All John Apel diamonds are ethically sourced to ensure they meet federal regulations through the Kimberley Process, meaning they are mined in ways that respect human rights and the environment. We exclusively use natural earth-mined diamonds; as we believe there I something special about the billions of years it takes for them to form under the earth’s surface. With over 40 years in the industry, our experience ensures we are selecting diamonds that are cut well, allowing them to come alive and reflect the light entering them spectacularly – resulting in the maximum amount of brilliance and sparkle.
John Apel is aware of the environmental impact of metal mining and makes a conscious effort to use ethically sourced metals, mined with little to no negative impact on the miners or the environment in which they are mined. Many of our pieces begin from recycled gold that is carefully blended with specialized alloys to achieve a specific color, enhance strength, or to make the metal more hypoallergenic in special cases.
Many of our finishes are completely applied by the designer himself. Our unique matte finish on our yellow gold creates a luxurious yet casual feel for everyday wear. The bold and rustic finish on our arena pieces, as well as the rich gunmetal plating that is applied to them, is a testament to the labor of love that the designer embalms on every individual piece.
